I have a Ph.D. in Graph Theory and a master’s degree in Mathematics from the Indian Institute of Technology in Madras, India. I have previously taught math to children as a volunteer at a school and helped my own son advance his math skills to be at the next grade level. Teaching math is not just my career but also my passion. I'm working as a part-time teaching faculty member at West Valley College, Saratoga. I'd like to teach different levels of math to diverse student groups. I'm interested in teaching for MathEdge mainly for its competitive programs. I believe such programs challenge the students and encourage them to perform to their full potential.

I have a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering. I have been teaching/tutoring Mathematics for the last 7 years at various schools. This will be my third year at MathEdge. I inspire students to like mathematics and believe in setting challenges to improve their skills.

I believe in raising the expectations of each student. If the challenge is there, I know a child will extend himself or herself to the fullest in order to meet it. The drive to "give your all" can be achieved by setting competitive goals and creating work that goes beyond being satisfactory. I feel that a child needs self-discipline to start refining time management skills in classroom work, guidance in developing work independence, strategies to strengthen academic foundations and opportunities to enhance social skills. A positive approach will be utilized to make learning as worthwhile and enjoyable as possible for all children.

It is a pleasure to have your children in my class and I am looking forward to another fun-filled year of learning.

I hold a master’s degree in Mathematics and I also have a bachelor’s degree in Education. I have been teaching math for the last 12 years and this is my second year at MathEdge. I have also tutored kids from Monta Vista and Lynbrook high schools.

I am extremely comfortable with Basic Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Pre-calculus, Trigonometry, and Statistics. Math has always been my favorite subject and I started tutoring in math when I was still studying for my bachelor’s degree.

I had a great time with kids at MathEdge last year and I hope to have many more fulfilling years at MathEdge.

I have a M.S. in Mathematics from San Jose State University and from Vikram University in Ujjain, India. Before joining MathEdge, I gained experience teaching math to children at another math center and as a private tutor. I have been teaching Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra-2,  Trigonometry, and Pre-Calculus to grade 6-12 students in groups and one-on-one. I have helped students prepare for pre-Algebra and Algebra STAR tests too. I think math is one of the subjects that people find easy to dislike, but I find it very interesting to break down problems into easy steps that children can understand. I appreciate the challenge of making hard things look easy so as to motivate students and have them develop an interest in math.

I have a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley.  At college, I was named Outstanding Senior in Chemical Engineering, graduated with Highest Honors (magma cum laude), and was named to the Phi Beta Kappa humanities honor society and the Tau Beta Pi engineering honors society.  I've been working for almost 10 years as a professional tutor of math and science.  I have a LOT of experience teaching pre-algebra, algebra and geometry to students 5th thru 12th grade. As a senior in high school, I received 730 out of 800 on the Verbal section of the SATs and 790 out of 800 in Math. Both the combined score and the Math score were the best in my high school’s history.

I love to see the smile on a child's face when they solve a problem without help. Every solution they figure out themselves boosts their confidence and takes them to a higher level. It all begins with a little bit of coaching. We can guide them to think out of the box, maybe help them practice so it becomes second nature to find innovative solutions to all practical problems. I promise to do just that at MathEdge, make them independent, give them the springboard that they so deserve.

Here is a bit about myself, I have a master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Computer Science. I design and develop software for a small medical device startup in the Bay Area. I am blessed with two daughters ages 10 and 7, who are also benefiting from MathEdge's unique style.
